Adaptive Swim Lessons is reserved for children with a classified disability or significant medical condition. These lessons are open to the public, no significant paperwork is required.

Lessons run Fall (Spetember-November, 7-9 weeks), Winter (Febuary to April, 7-9 weeks), Spring (April-June, 7-9 weeks), and Summer (June-July, 4-6 weeks). Scheduling is determined by school availability. Scheduled holidays and school vacations are accounted for.

Adaptive Otters: Water Safety, Sensory & Recreation is a personalized swimming class for beginners who need extra 1:1 coaching support in the water.These children are NOT able to swim independently.

  • Classes are all about learning through games, sensory activities, and play, making it an engaging experience for young swimmers.
  • Swimmers will learn some stroke basics- bubbles, kicking, arms, and light swimming, depending on their ability. Each class is tailored to each child's needs.
  • Classes are held once each week for 30 mins.
  • The typical age of swimmers in the Adaptive Otters Class is between the ages of 4 - 13 years old.

 

 

 

 

 

Adaptive Seals & Stroke Mechanicsis a swimming class designed for swimmers who have mastered basic water skills like floating, treading water, and maintaining balance. In this class, swimmers will focus on improving their technique in freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke.

  • Swimmers will train in designated lanes, progressing from shallow to deep water as their skills improve.
  • These swimmers may have an interest in competing in the Special Olympics Aquatic Division.
  • Classes are held once each week for 30-45 minutes (as needed per swimmer).
  • The typical age of swimmers in the Adaptive Seals Class is for ages 14 and up.

 

 

 

 

 

Adaptive Competitiveis a swimming class designed for swimmers aiming to compete at higher levels. In this class, swimmers will focus on refining all four strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly), mastering diving off a block, and perfecting flip turns

  • Swimmers will be swimming full laps in a small group in each lane. Roughly 4:1 swimmers to coaches.
  • These swimmers may have an interest in competing in the Special Olympics Aquatic Division.
  • Classes are held up to twice each week for 45 minutes.
  • The typical age of swimmers in the Competitve Class is for ages 10 and up.
